Vegetarian Sausage Recipe is made from carrots, onion, soya flour and herbs.

Cooking Time: Appr. 30 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 People

Vegetarian Sausage Recipe

Ingredients:

3 large carrots
1 onion
1 cup soya flour
1 large egg
1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary
1 teaspoon mixed dried herbs
Salt and freshly crushed black pepper to taste
Oil for shallow frying
Water as needed

Vegetarian Sausage Recipe

Cooking Method:

1. Peel and grate the carrots. Chop the onion finely.

2. Beat the egg.

3. Take grated carrots and chopped onions in a large mixing bowl.

4. Add salt, freshly crushed black pepper, dried mix herbs, chopped rosemary and mix well.

5. Add soya flour and mix well.

6. Add beaten egg and knead to make stiff dough. If need to add some water, sprinkle some water and knead well.

7. Divide in 10 equal portion and form in sausage shape.

8. Steam cook vegetarian sausages for 10 mins in steam cooker. You can boil the water in big pan and place the vegetarian sausages in colander. Steam cook them for 10 mins.

9. Remove them gently from the steam cooker or colander once they are cooled off.

10. Heat oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the vegetarian sausages all round until they are brown on medium heat.

11. Bake vegetarian sausages for 15-20 mins at 180 degree C.

Serve vegetarian sausages hot with any side.

Variation Tips:

You can avoid the baking vegetarian sausages, simply increase 5 mins in steaming timing and shallow fry on low heat until vegetarian sausages are brown all round.

You can omit the egg, if you don’t want in vegetarian sausage recipe. Sprinkle some water while kneading to make stiff dough.

You can add other vegetables like grated courgettes, boiled and mashed parsnips, potato, sweet potato, etc… to make variation in vegetarian sausage recipe.

Add the grated cheddar for cheesy texture.

You can replace the soya flour with the breadcrumbs or bread slices.
