Vegetable Samosa Recipe is deep fried stuffed pastry with various vegetables and spices in.

Cooking Time: Appr. 20 minutes
Serves: 4 People

Vegetable Samosa Recipe

Ingredients:

12 samosa pads (pastries)
1 tablespoon plain flour
Water as needed
Oil for deep frying
For The Stuffing:
2 medium potatoes
½ cup green peas
½ cup sweet corn kernels
1 bunch spring onions
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon garlic- ginger paste
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon chopped coriander

Vegetable Samosa Recipe

Cooking Method:

1. Chop the potato in small cubes. Chop the chillies. Chop the spring onions.

2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds crackle, add the chopped chillies and garlic-ginger paste. Stir for a minute.

3. Add the chopped potatoes and cook for 5 mins covering the lid. Stir in between.

4. Add the green peas, chopped spring onions and sweet corn kernels. Stir and cook for 5 mins covering the lid.

5. Add the salt, garam masala powder and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for 2-3 mins.

6. Let it cool down and then divide the stuffing into 12 equal portions. Keep aside.

7. Make the glue with plain flour and water for sealing the vegetable samosa.

8. Place the samosa pastry straight on a dry surface and fold a little bit from the nearest end. Hold in hand like a pocket and fill the vegetable fillings. Press the filling inside, press the top edge in and fold the long loose pastry toward you and flip it to apply the plain flour mix (glue) to the loose pastry. Now once it is glued, pull it tightly and press to seal it. Repeat with the remaining pastries and stuffing to make all vegetable samosas and finish all folding samosas. 9. Heat the oil in a pan and place the vegetable samosa one by one deep depends on the size of the pan. Deep fry the samosas until lightly golden brown in colour. Place the vegetable samosa on kitchen paper to absorb the oil. Finish frying all vegetable samosas.

Serve vegetable samosa hot with chutney.

Variation Tips:

You can add chopped green pepper (capsicum), chopped carrots and chopped onion to the vegetable samosa recipe, if you wish. Add the chopped onions, after green chilli and garlic-ginger paste and sauté for 2 mins. Add the chopped green pepper (capsicum) and chopped carrots along with green peas and follow the above steps to make vegetable samosa.
