Tuna Curry Recipe is fresh tuna pieces are cooked in indian spices with tomatoes and onion.

Tuna Curry Recipe


1 large tuna steak about 400gm (tuna machli ka piece)
1 large onion (pyaz)
2 large tomatoes (tamater)
3-4 garlic cloves (lahsun)
¼ teaspoon fenugreek seeds – Optional (methi dana)
1 teaspoon red chili powder (lal mirch powder)
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi powder)
2 teaspoon coriander powder (dhania powder)
2 tablespoon oil (tel)
Salt to taste (namak)
Some chopped fresh coriander leaves (kata hara dhania)
Water as required

Curried Tuna

How To Cook Tuna Curry Recipe:

1. Cut the tuna in small pieces. Wash and marinade the tuna pieces in salt.

2. Slice the onions. Cut the tomatoes in big chunks. Crush the garlic.

3. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the fenugreek seeds. When the seeds are lightly brown, add the crushed garlic. Stir for few secs then add the sliced onions. Saute until onions are lightly brown.

4. In a mixing bowl, add the tomtoes chunks, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to taste with a little water. Add this mixture to the pan. Saute til the oil separated on sides.

5. Add the tuna pieces. Mix well but gently and cook for 2 mins.

6. Now add the water as much as you want in curry. Bring the tuna curry to boil and simmer for about 5 mins.

7. Finally turn the heat off and garnish the tuna curry chopped fresh coriander leaves.

Serve the tuna curry recipe warm with roti or rice.

Variation Tips:

You can add potatoes to tuna curry. Peel and cut the potatoes in wedges. Add the potato wedges at step 4 and cook about 5-8 mins until potato wedges are half cooked. Then follow above step from step 4.
You can add other vegetables like flat beans, french beans, carrots, etc… to this curry.
