Thai Red Curry Paste is a dark curry paste makes delightful recipes like Thai Red Curry Chicken Recipe and Thai Veg Curry Recipe.

Preparation Time: Appr. 10 Minutes
Portions: For 2 Thai red curries

Thai Red Curry Paste


2 medium red chillies
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Some coriander with stems, chopped
4 lemon grass stems
2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 shallots
4 garlic cloves
2 tablespoon lime juice
2 teaspoon hot paprika

Cooking Method:

1. How to make Thai Red Curry Paste: Split the chillies and discard the seeds.

2. Heat the small frying pan over a medium heat.

3. Chop the shallots, garlic, lemon grass (with stems) and coriander with stems.

4. Add the coriander seeds and cumin seeds. Toss and dry roast them until the flavours start coming out.

5. Then place into a mortar and crush them to make coarse powder.

6. Now place the chillies, spices and all the other ingredients in a food processor and blend them to a coarse Thai Red Curry paste.

7. Then freeze Thai Red Curry Paste. Thai Red Curry Paste will be fresh for 2 months.
