Tandoori Chicken Oven Recipe is basically cooked in oven grill instead of tandoor (clay oven). Tandoori Chicken is marinated in yogurt and tandoori masala.

Cooking Time: Appr. 30 Minutes
Serves: 4 people

4 Skinless Chicken leg pieces
Butter for brushing

For the tandoori chicken marinade:

½ cup thick yogurt
2 tablespoon Kashmiri red chilli powder (or any chilli mild in taste but strong in colour)
1 tablespoon Coriander powder
¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
½ teaspoon Cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
½ teaspoon star anise powder
½ teaspoon clove powder
4 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Red colour drops (optional)
1 Chicken stock cube
Salt for taste

1. Mix all ingredients from the chicken tandoori marinade list to make form a thick paste for Indian tandoori chicken recipe using grinder or blender.

2. Give 2 to 4 cuts to the chicken legs (both side) and mix it well the marinade paste by hand. Make sure you fill the cuts with chicken tandoori paste.

3. Marinade for at least an overnight in refrigerator. 18 to 72 hours for chicken marinating is the best for chicken tandoori.

4. Take out from the fridge an hour before grilling the tandoori chicken.

5. Grill tandoori chicken in oven at 220 degree Celsius for 25-30 mins appr.

6. After 30 mins take out chicken tandoori and brush some butter. Place the chicken tandoori on sizzling grill for 3-4 mins to get crunchiness tandoori chicken (I use healthy grill). This step is optional.

Serve grilled tandoori chicken hot with salad, chips etc… squeezing lemon wedges on it.
