Paneer Capsicum Masala Recipe is one of the simple yet delicious paneer recipes. It can be cooked in only 20 mins with less ingredients and without any hassle.

Cooking Time: Appr. 20 Minutes
Serves: 2 People

Paneer Capsicum Masala Recipe

Ingredients:

300gm Paneer
1 large pepper any colour (capsicum/ shimla mirch)
1 large onion (pyaz)
2 tomatoes (tamater)
½ inch ginger root (adrak)
2 gralic cloves (lahsun)
2 green chillies (hari mirch)
½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 bay leaf (tej patta)
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
1 teaspoon red chilli powder (lal mirch powder)
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder (dhania powder)
½ teaspoon cumin powder (jeera powder)
1 tablespoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
2 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste

Paneer Capsicum Masala

How To Cook Paneer Capsicum Masala Recipe:

1. Chop the onion. Peel the ginger root and mince or chop it finely. Chop the chillies and garlic finely. Deseed the pepper and dice it. Cut the paneer in cubes or rectangles.

2. Peel the tomatoes and roughly chop. Grind the tomatoes with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to taste to make smooth paste.

3. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add bay leaf.

4. When the seeds start sizzling, add the chopped garlic and ginger. Saute for some secs.

5. Now add the chopped onion and saute until soft.

6. Add the diced peppers and cook for 4 to 5 mins. Stir in between.

7. Then add the spiced tomato paste and cook for few mins on low heat or until the oil separated on sides.

8. Add a little water and bring it to boil then add the paneer pieces and mix well but gently.

9. Add the cumin powder and garam masala powder. Crush the kasoori methi in your palms and add to the pan. Mix well but gently. Cover and let the paneer capsicum masala recipe cook for few mins.

10. Finally turn the heat off.

Serve the paneer capsicum masala recipe with chapatti, paratha or rice.

Paneer Capsicum Curry (Paneer Capsicum Masala) is simple curry made with paneer (cottage cheese) and mixed peppers (capsicum).

Cooking Time: Appr. 20 Minutes
Serves: 2-3 People

Paneer Capsicum Curry

Ingredients:

300g Paneer (cottage cheese)
1 green pepper (capsicum)
1 red pepper (red capsicum)
1 yellow pepper (yellow capsicum)
½ split roasted cashew nuts
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 cup tomato puree
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
2 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Paneer Capsicum Masala

Cooking Method:

1. Cut the paneer in small rectangle or square. Dice the peppers (capsicums).
Heat the frying pan and cook all paneer pieces cook it each side until it golden brown (without oil). Soak paneer in salted hot water for 15 mins, this way paneer will turn out soft for paneer capsicum masala (instead of frying paneer, roasting like this makes paneer recipes healthier) .

2. Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it. When cumin seeds crackle, add grated ginger and stir for 30 secs.

3. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.

4. Add the tomato puree and mix them all well. Let it cook for 5-6 mins, mixing in between until the oil separated on sides.

5. Add some water and salt to taste and bring it to boil. Simmer for 8-10 mins.

6. Add the paneer piece and the diced peppers (capsicum) and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes for all the flavours to blend well in paneer capsicum masala recipe.

7. Add cashew nuts and simmer for further 2 mins.

8. Finally turn the heat off.

Serve paneer capsicum curry recipe hot with chapatti, naan bread, paratha or rice.

Variation Tips:

You can add garlic paste along with grated ginger for garlicky flavour in paneer capsicum curry recipe.

If you want onions in this paneer capsicum masala, add one or two finely chopped onions after adding ginger (and garlic if you are using). Sauté until onions turn light brown and then follow above steps.
