Dry Fish Curry Recipe is dry fish cooked with onion-tomato gravy with spices. You can use any dry fish for this curry but make sure the dry fish cooked at the end as time varies for different dry fishes.

Cooking Time: Appr. 20-25 Minutes
Serves: 2 People

Dry Fish Curry Recipe

Ingredients:

250gm dry fish
2 onions
1 large tomato or 2 small
2-3 garlic cloves
½ teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi)
1 teaspoon chilli powder
¾ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves with stems
½ teaspoon garam masala powder (optional)
2 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Water as required

Dry Fish Curry

Cooking Method for Dry Fish Curry Recipe:

1. Cut the fish in desired pieces. Soak it in boiled water for 10 mins.

2. Slice the onions. Chop the tomatoes. Grate or mince the garlic cloves.

3. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the fenugreek seeds (methi).

4. When seeds start sizzling and get brown, add the minced or grated garlic. Stir until it get lightly brown.

5. Add the onion slice. Stir and cook until onions get tender and soften.

6. Now add chopped tomatoes. Stir and cook for few mins.

7. Mix the chilli powder, coriander powder, chopped fresh coriander leaves and turmeric powder with a little water in a small bowl. Add to the pan, stir and cook until oil get separated on sides.

8. Now add the soaked dry fish without water. Mix well and cook for 5 mins.

9. Add a little water (depends how much you want in curry), garam masala powder (optional) and salt to taste.

10. Bring the curry to boil and simmer for 8-10 mins or until fish is cooked.

11. Finally, turn the heat off and garnish dry fish curry with coriander.

Serve the dry fish curry recipe with chapatti or rice.
