Tadka Dal Fry is easy daal recipe and It is very popular indian cooking.

Cooking Time: Appr. 40 Minutes
Serves: 2-3 People

Tadka Dal FryIngredients:

1 cup Lentils
½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 medium onion
1 large Tomato
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1 chopped green chilli
1-2 Dried Red Chilies
1 inch Ginger
¼ teaspoon Asafoetida (hing powder)
3-4 Curry Leaves
2 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon chopped coriander for garnish
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Cooking Method:

1. Wash and soak the lentil for an hour.

2. Take lentil in a pan with add 3 cups of water and turmeric powder. Boil lentil until it is soft. Add more water, if you need to.

3. Peel the ginger and grate it.

4. Chop the onion, tomato and green chilli.

5. Heat the butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds. When it crackles add Asafoetida (hing powder), chopped chilli, ginger and dried chillies. Stir it well for 2 mins.

6. Now add chopped onion and cook it until it is cooked (turns to transparent).

7. Then add chopped tomato and salt. Cook it for 5 mins stir in between.

8. Add curry leaves and stir it well.

9. Then add boiled lentil (or you can add this dal fry tadka to boiled lentil pan) and mix it well.

10. Add lemon juice and stir it well to mix it.

11. Finally turn off the heat and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot this easy dal recipe with chapatti, naan or rice.
