Sweet Bread Rolls are made from plain flour with plenty of sugar. These plain bread rolls are perfect for breakfast or evening snack with cup of tea or coffee.

1 cup milk
½ cup sugar
2½ cup plain flour
1 tablespoon dry active yeast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
Some wheat flour for dusting

Cooking Method:

1. Dissolve the sugar in milk.

2. Heat the milk in microwave until it is lukewarm (it should be warm as baby bath water).

3. Add the dry active yeast, stir it and let it rest for proofing for 10 mins. After 10 mins you will see the foam on the top of the mix, that’s called proofing.

4. Now mix the salt with flour. Add the olive oil and add the yeast liquid to flour. Knead the plain flour to make soft dough. Knead well for around 5-8 mins dusting some plain flour on it.

5. Keep the dough for rising for an hour covering with cling film (plastic wrap) or just covering with the plate.
After an hour your plain flour dough will be almost double in size. Knead again for a minute and make 12 equal balls.

6. Knead these balls well and make round balls gently using your fingers.

7. Spray or grease the baking tray and place the dough balls leaving 2 inches spaces with each other. Cover the balls and leave them for another half an hour to rise.

8. Brush the milk on the top dough balls for a little glaze. Bake these sweet bread rolls at 220 degree C for 15-20 mins.

9. Take the sweet bread rolls out from the oven and let them stand for 3-4 mins. So the crust gets soft.

Serve sweet bread rolls hot or warm as a breakfast or a dinner.

Variation Tips:

For extra the glaze melt some butter and mix with little milk or only use melted butter and brush the sweet bread rolls.

You can even use egg white, egg yolk, cream, etc… to glaze your sweet bread rolls.
