Surti Lilva Broccoli Curry is surti lilva and broccoli cooked with various spices and cucumber.

Cooking Time: Appr. 30 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 People

Surti Lilva Broccoli Curry


1 pack of frozen surti lilva (about 300g)
1 small broccoli
1 cucumber
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoon carom seeds
¼ teaspoon asafoetida
1 green chilli
1 tablespoon garlic-ginger paste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon tomato paste
3 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Surti Lilva Broccoli Curry

Cooking Method:

1. Defrost the surti lilva.

2. Cut the broccoli in small florets. Chop the cucumber.

3. Chop the chilli finely.

4. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds, carom seeds and mustard seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida.

5. Add the garlic-ginger paste and chopped chilli. Stir it for 30 secs.

6. Add the defrost surti lilva and cook for 15 mins on low heat. Stir in between.

7. Add the tomato paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Cook and stir until oil separated on sides.

8. Add the broccoli florets and chopped cucumber. Stir gently and cook for 2 mins.

9. Add the salt and a little water and simmer for 10 mins.

Serve surti lilva broccoli curry with rice or wheat chapatti.
