Spicy Puffed Rice (Vagharela Mamra) is crispy and  crunchy kurmura (mamra). This is very nice snack for the picky kids.

Cooking Time: Appr. 10 Minutes
Serves: 6 People

Spicy Puffed Rice (Vagharela Mamra)

Ingredients:

6 cups puffed rice (Mamra)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 green chillies (optional)
A pinch of asafoetida (hing powder)
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
2 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste

Spicy Puffed Rice (Vagharela Mamra)

Cooking Method:

1. Chop the green chillies.

2. Heat the oil in a large pan.

3. Add cumin seeds. When seeds crackle, add asafoetida (hing powder).

4. Add chopped chillies and turmeric powder.

5. Add the puffed rice (mamra) and salt. Keep mixing the puffed rice (mamra) with a spatula till they are coated with all the turmeric powder and other ingredients.

6. Keep stirring and mixing for at least 5-7 mins until spicy puffed rice (mamra) are crispy and crunchy.

7. Finally turn the heat off and Let this cool down. Store it in an airtight container.

Serve the spicy puffed rice as a snack.

Variation Tips:

You can make sev mamra recipe same way too. Add the red chilli powder (avoid the green chillies) and 2 cups sev after turning the heat off and mix well and your sev mamra is ready to eat. Store it in an airtight container.
