Shahi Paneer Recipe is rich and creamy paneer recipe with mughlai influence. Shahi paneer recipe is has got creaminess and richness from cashew nuts, almonds, cardamoms and cream.

Shahi Paneer Recipe


350g paneer (cottage cheese)
2 chopped onions
3 chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
¼ cup cashew nuts and almonds
2 green cardamoms
4-5 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon garam masala powder
2 tablespoon oil
3-4 tablespoon single cream
1 tablespoon single cream for garnishing
Salt to taste

Shahi Paneer Recipe

Cooking Method:

1. Soak the cashew nuts and almond in water for an hour. Remove the almond skin. Blend cashew nuts and almonds with milk to make smooth paste.

2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and cardamoms.

3. When cumin seeds crackle, add garlic-ginger paste and sauté for a minute.

4. Add the chopped onions and saute till they turn golden brown.

5. Add the chopped tomatoes and saute for 7- 8 minutes.

6. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook for 5 mins.

7. Now cool this onion mix and blend it to make smooth paste.

8. Heat the smooth paste again with 1 cup water. Bring it to boil.

9. Add the cashew nut and almond paste and let it simmer for 10 mins

10. Add the garam masala powder and simmer for further 5 mins.

11. Add the cream and simmer for 3-4 mins.

12. Add the paneer pieces and cook the shahi paneer recipe for 2-3 mins or you can pour the gravy on the paneer pieces before serving.

13. Garnish shahi paneer recipe with cream on the top.

Serve shahi paneer recipe hot with naan bread, paratha or rice.
