Potato Rice Ball Recipe is made from leftover rice (cooked) with mashed potatoes, chopped spring onions, chopped garlic and other ingredients. This is very simple potato rice ball recipe and it is with less ingredients.

Cooking Time: Appr. 3-5 Minutes Per Batch
Serves: 4-5 People

Potato Rice Ball Recipe


2 cups leftover rice (cooked)
3-4 medium potatoes
1 small bunch of spring onions (4-5 stalks)
3-4 garlic cloves
2 green chillies
3 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
Freshly crushed black pepper
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Rice Ball Recipe

Cooking Method:

1. Peel the potatoes and boil until cooked.

2. Chop the garlic, green chillies and spring onions.

3. Mash the leftover rice with hand in a large bowl. Mash the boiled potatoes and add to the mashed rice.

4. Add the chopped spring onions, chopped garlic and chopped green chillies. Mix and knead well.

5. Add the lemon juice, freshly crushed black pepper, dried mixed herbs and salt. Mix well and knead it.

6. Take a portion of the rice and potato mix (depends what size of potato rice ball you want) in your hand and roll in your palms to make round ball shape. Finish making all potato rice balls. Keep aside for 15 mins.

7. Heat the oil in a pan and place the potato rice ball gently in to the pan. You can add 4-5 at same time or depends on the size of pan how many fits in and deep fry the potato rice balls until golden brown on medium heat.

8. Drain and place the potato rice balls on kitchen paper to absorb the access oil.

Serve potato rice ball recipe hot with tomato dip or any dip.
