Potato Onion Curry (Aloo Pyaz Sabzi) is a simple potato onion dish. Potato Onion Curry is also known as aloo pyaz sabzi, aloo pyaz ki sabji and aloo do pyaza.

Cooking Time: Appr. 30 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 People

Aloo Pyaz Sabzi


4 medium potatoes
6 medium onions
3 large tomatoes
1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
1 teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
3 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Potato Onion Curry

Cooking Method:

1. Peel the potatoes and cut in medium cubs.

2. Peel the onions and cut in quarters. Chop the tomatoes.

3. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add fenugreek seeds. When seeds crackle, add potato and onion cubes. Stir and cook for 10 mins. Stir in between.

4. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook for 3 mins. Stir in between.

5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 mins. Stir in between. Add some water and let aloo pyaz ki sabzi simmer for 10 mins.

6. Add garam masala and let aloo pyaz ki sabji simmer for further 5 mins.

7. Finally turn off the heat and garnish aloo pyaz sabzi with chopped coriander.

Serve potato onion curry with chapatti, paratha or rice.
