Potato Cakes Recipe is easy breakfast recipe. The potato cake recipe can be made in advance and stored for good few days.

Cooking Time: 25-30 Minutes Potato boiling Time
4-5 Minutes Potato Cooking Time, Each
Serves: 3-4 People for 2-3 days

Potato Cakes RecipeIngredients:

500g floury potatoes
200g plain flour
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt to taste
50g melted butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Water as needed

Cooking Method:

1. To make potato cakes recipe, first peel the potatoes and cut into cubes. run the cold water over it.

2. Boil the 1 liter of water in a large pan. Add the salt to taste and the potatoes in the pan.
Now simmer the potatoes for around 15-20 mins or until the potatoes are tender.

3. Heat a frying pan over a medium heat, add the cumin seeds and dry fry them until the flavour start coming off from cumin.

4. Drain the boil potatoes and wipe them to dry the potatoes out. Now mash them gently with butter until all potatoes mash properly.

5. In a large bowl, add flour, roasted cumin and cinnamon powder. Now add potato mixture to flour and make soft dough.

6. Place the dough out onto a floured surface and roll to a thickness of between 0.5cm-1cm. Cut the potato cake into pieces of your choice of shape you wish or leave as it is (or cut once the potato cakes cooked).

7. Heat a heavy frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the potato cake 2-3 mins on each side.

8. Apply a little butter over potato cakes before serving.

Serve potato cakes recipe as a breakfast with cup of tea or coffee or as a light meal.

Tips:
You can freeze the potato cakes dough to use next time or cook all potato cakes same time and leave in cool place or in refrigerator for few days.
