Paneer Starter Recipe is deep fried marinade paneer (cottage cheese) in different sauces, chopped spring onions, spices and herbs.

Serves: 3-4 People

Paneer Starter Recipe


350g paneer (Cottage Cheese)
Oil for deep frying

For Marinade the paneer:

2 garlic cloves
½ inch ginger
2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
2 springs of spring onions
1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
2 green chillies
1 teaspoon soya sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon plain flour
1 tablespoon corn flour
½ freshly crushed black peppercorn
½ teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
4-5 tablespoon water

Paneer Starter Recipe

Cooking Method:

1. Crush the garlic. Peel the ginger and grate it. Chop the chillies finely. Chop the spring onions (keep some spring onion greens on side for garnishing).

2. Cut the paneer (cottage cheese) in rectangle or long strips.

3. In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients from the marinade list and mix it well to form a smooth thick paste.

4. Add the paneer rectangle or strips the marinade mix and mix well gently and coat well in the marinade. Keep the marinade paneer aside for 30 minutes.

5. Heat the oil in a pan and deep fry the paneer till golden brown and crisp. Drain on a kitchen paper

6. Place the paneer starter recipe on a serving dish and garnish it with spring onion greens.

Serve paneer starter recipe hot or warm with any sauce.
