Paneer Peas Samosa is deep fried stuffed pastry with paneer (cottage cheese), peas and spices.

Cooking Time: Appr. 20 minutes
Serves: 4 People

Paneer Peas Samosa

Ingredients:

12 samosa pads (pastries)
1 tablespoon plain flour
Water as needed
Oil for deep frying

For The Stuffing:

1 cup crumbled or grated paneer (cottage cheese)
½ cup green peas
2 tomatoes
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon amchur powder (dried raw mango powder)
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon chopped coriander

Paneer Peas Samosa

Cooking Method:

1. Chop the chillies. Chop the tomatoes.

2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the chopped chillies and ginger paste. Stir for a minute.

3. Add the tomatoes and cook for 2-3 mins. Add the green peas. Stir and cook for 3-4 mins.

4. Add the salt, amchur powder (dried raw mango powder), garam masala powder, chaat masala and lemon juice. Mix well and cook for a minute.

5. Add crumbled or grated paneer and chopped coriander. Mix well and cook for further 2 mins on medium heat.
Let it cool down and then divide the stuffing into 12 equal portions. Keep aside.

6. Make the glue with plain flour and water for sealing the paneer samosa.

7. Place the samosa pastry straight on a dry surface and fold a little bit from the nearest end. Hold in hand like a pocket and fill the paneer peas fillings. Press the filling inside, press the top edge in and fold the long loose pastry toward you and flip it to apply the plain flour mix (glue) to the loose pastry. Now once it is glued, pull it tightly and press to seal it. See the step by step pictures. Repeat with the remaining pastries and stuffing to make all paneer samosas.

8. Heat the oil in a pan and place the paneer samosa one by one deep depends on the size of the pan. Deep fry the samosas until golden brown in colour. Place the paneer samosa on kitchen paper to absorb the oil. Finish frying all paneer peas samosas.

Serve paneer peas samosa hot with chutney.

Variation Tips:

You can add chopped green pepper (capsicum), chopped onion and garlic paste to it, if you wish. Add the garlic paste with ginger paste. Then add chopped onions and sauté for 2 mins. Add the chopped green pepper (capsicum) along with green peas and follow the above steps to make paneer samosa.
