Paneer Mutter Masala Recipe


350 gram Paneer
2 large Onion
150 gram fresh peas
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
5 cashew nuts
½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
½ cup plain yogurt
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
2 tablespoon butter
Salt to taste

Cooking Method:

1. Cut the onions in 2 halves and boil with cashew nuts.

2. Now grind the onions and cashew nuts and make a smooth paste.

3. Cut the paneer in small rectangle.

4. Heat the frying pan and cook all paneer pieces cook it each side (or 2 sides, top and bottom) until it golden brown (without oil). Soak paneer in salted hot water for 15 mins, this way paneer will turn out soft for paneer mutter masala recipe (instead of frying paneer, roasting like this makes paneer recipes healthier) .

5. Now heat the butter in the pan. Add the ginger and garlic paste and cook it for 2-3 mins.

6. Then add the onion paste and cook it for 2 mins, stirring in between.

7. Now add the chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala powder and tomato paste and cook for another 2-3 mins.

8. Now add green peas and cook it for 8-9 mins with covering the lid on but stirring in between making sure it doesn’t stick on bottom of the pan.

9. Now add the Paneer pieces and whisked yogurt and cook it for further 5 mins with covering the lid on and stirring in between.

Serve this paneer mutter masala recipe hot with Nan bread or chapatti or rice.
