Paneer Kofta Recipe is deep fried paneer kofta (paneer ball) served with creamy gravy.

Cooking Time: Appr. 25 Minutes
Serves: 3-4 people

Paneer Kofta Ingredients:

For the Paneer Koftas:

1 cup grated or crumbled Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
2 Potatoes
2 green chillies
2 tablespoon chopped coriander
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
½ teaspoon Garam Masala
2 tablespoon Corn flour
1 teaspoon amchur powder (dried mango powder)
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

For the Gravy:

3 medium Onions
½ cup tomato puree
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
½ cup yogurt
2 tablespoon cashew nuts paste
½ teaspoon Chili Powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 Bay Leaf (Tej Patta)
2 tablespoon ghee (Clarified Butter)
1 tablespoon chopped coriander or cream for garnish
Salt to taste
Water as needed

1. Boil potatoes and peel and mash.

2. Add the grated or crumbled paneer, ginger paste, garlic paste, salt, chopped green chilli, chopped coriander, garam masala, corn flour, amchur powder (dried mango powder) and mix well.

3. Make round balls of this mixture by rolling in your palm.

4. Heat the oil in a pan and deep fry all paneer koftas balls in the oil gently till golden brown in colour.

5. Boil the onion for 5-7 mins and grind to make smooth paste. Chop coriander leaves very finely.

6. Heat the ghee in a pan and add bay leaf. Add garlic and ginger paste. Stir for a minute.
Add onion paste. Keep stirring for 2-3 mins and add tomato puree, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Stir well and cook for 3-4 mins.

7. Add yogurt and cashew paste. Mix well and Cover the lid and let it simmer for 5 mins.

8. Finally turn off the heat and while serving reheat the gravy, place the paneer koftas onthe plate and add the gravy to the kofta and garnish paneer kofta recipe with chopped coriander leaves or pouring some cream on it.

Serve paneer kofta curry recipe hot with naan or paratha.
