Paneer Kadai Recipe is one of the popular north indian paneer dishes. Paneer Kadai Recipe is the best paneer recipe and it is easy and quick cook.

Serves: 2 people

Paneer Kadai Recipe

Ingredients:

350 gram Paneer (cottage cheese)
2 medium onions
1 green pepper (capsicum) or 1 cup mixed peppers (capsicums) cut in cubes
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
2 green chillies (Optional)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
3/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
4 tablespoon tomato puree
1 tablespoon kasoori methi (dried fenugrrek leaves)
1 teaspoon Sugar (Optional)
2 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt to taste

Paneer Kadai

Cooking Method:

1. Cut Paneer in small rectangle or cubes pieces.

2. Heat the frying pan and cook all paneer pieces cook it each side until it golden brown (without oil). Soak paneer in salted hot water for 15 mins, this way paneer will turn out soft for paneer kadai recipes (instead of frying paneer, roasting like this makes paneer recipes healthier and less greasy).

3. Chop the onion in very fine pieces and chop the green chillies.

4. Cut the pepper (capsicum) in small cubes.

5. Heat the butter in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add the onion and ginger and garlic paste. Cook and stir until the onion turns to lightly brown.

6. Now add the turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook the masala until the butter gets separated from it.

7. Add the tomato puree and sugar. Keep Stirring until it get thick gravy.

8. Add the pepper (capsicum) dices and stir and cook for 3-4 mins.

9. Now add the paneer pieces, garam masala and kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and mix well. Cover the lid and let kadhai paneer recipe cook for 5 minutes on low flame.

10. Finally turn the heat off and garnish this simple paneer kadai recipe with chopped fresh coriander.

Serve  Paneer Kadai Recipe hot with Chapatti or Naan.
