Paneer In Cashew Gravy is shallow fried paneer (cottage cheese) cooked in creamy cashew gravy.

Cooking Time: Appr. 30 Minutes
Serves: 3 People

Paneer In Cashew Gravy


350g paneer (cottage cheese)
1 large yellow or white onion
1 tablespoon garlic-ginger paste
½ cup cashew nuts
½ cup single cream
1 tablespoon tomato paste
3-4 cloves
1 bay leaf
3-4 green cardamoms
½ teaspoon chilli powder
½ teaspoon turmeric power
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon oil or butter
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Paneer In Cashew Gravy

Cooking Method:

1. Soak the cashew nuts in the water for an hour.

2. Cut the paneer (cottage cheese) in a small rectangle or square pieces. Fry in frying pan with a teaspoon butter or flora light both sides until lightly brown.

3. Blend the half of cashew nuts with some water and the rest keep aside.

4. Chop the onion finely.

5. Heat the oil/butter in a pan. Add the chopped onion and cook for few mins.

6. Add the garlic-ginger paste. Stir and cook until onions are transparent and look mushy on low heat.

7. Add the tomato paste, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and a little water.

8. Cook and stir until the oil/butter separated on sides.

9. Add the blend cashew nuts paste, single cream and some water (as much as you want in the gravy as the gravy will be thicker after simmering it). Bring the cashew gravy to boil.

10. Add the fried paneer (cottage cheese) and soaked cashew nuts. Let the paneer in cashew gravy simmer for 5 mins.

Serve paneer in cashew gravy hot with chapatti, naan bread, paratha or rice.
