Minty Tomato Thepla Recipe is a shallow fried flat bread made with mint leaves and grated tomatoes.

2 cup wheat flour (atta)
4 large tomatoes (tamater)
1 tablespoon finely chopped mint (barik kata pudina)
1 teaspoon red chilli powder (lal mirch powder)
½ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi powder)
1 tablespoon oil (tel)
1 teaspoon sugar (chini)
Salt to taste
Water as needed

How To Cook Minty Tomato Thepla Recipe:

Tomato Sauce for Tomato Thepla1. Peel the tomatoes and grate them. Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, chopped mint, oil, sugar, salt and mix it. See the left Picture.

2. Make the hole in the middle of the flour and add the tomato mix and mix it.

3. Add some more water, if it required and keep mixing with hand. Do not add too much water as you need to maintain the consistency to form the mix.

4. After few mins the dough will turn to smooth dough. If not, keep mixing with hands. All flour should be turned into smooth dough.

5. Now take a small bit, a size of a lemon. Press in between your hands and dip both sides in the wheat flour.

6. Roll on the rolling pin (roller). Keep rolling until it gets 3-4 times bigger than original dough size.

7. Heat the heavy based frying pan/tawa.

8. Gently lift the minty tomato thepla and place in the heated pan. Turn it over in 15 secs. Add the oil with the spoon on the edge of the thepla and spread some on the top side, cook it for 30 secs or until it cooked that side.

9. Now again turn it over and cook it for another 15 secs or until it cooked.

10. Now take it out from the pan and do the same with the rest of the dough. It normally takes around 1-2 mins to cook one thepla.

Serve hot minty tomato thepla recipe with raita, yogurt, pickle, any curry or even with cup of tea.
