Meatball Curry is also called kofta curry. This lamb meatball curry recipe is cooked with potatoes but you can cook without potatoes. Even you can make meatball with other meat like chicken, turkey, pork, etc…

Cooking Time: Appr. 45 Minutes
Serves: 3 People

Meatball CurryIngredients:

2 medium size potatoes
3 medium onions
3 medium tomatoes
2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1½ teaspoon chilli powder
2 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon gram masala
2 tablespoon chopped coriander
4 whole black peppers (peppercorn)
2 small cinnamon sticks
2 bay leaves
1 star anise
2 garlics cut in small pieces.
Salt to taste
Water as needed

For Meatballs:

400 gram mince lamb (kheema)
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 medium chopped onion
2 chopped green chilies
1 tablespoon chopped coriander
1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt to taste

Cooking Method:

1. How to make meat balls: Wash mince lamb and squeeze all water out. Add all ingredients stated above for meatball and mix it until all ingredients mix properly with mince lamb.

2. Now take walnut size in your fingers and make small balls from mince mix. Leave aside for at least half an hour.

3. Chop the onions and tomatoes. Peel the potatoes and cut in small cubes.

4. Heat the oil in the pan and add garlic pieces. Wait till garlic pieces get golden brown.

5. Now add cloves, black peppers, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and star anise. Now add chopped onion and cook and stir till it get golden brown.

6. Take chopped tomatoes in a bowl. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, 1 tablespoon of chopped coriander leaves and salt and add some water and mix with spoon.

7. Add this tomatoes-spices mix into the pan and cook it for 5-8 mins. It will need stirring every minute.
Add the meatballs in the pan and mix gently. Cook it for 10 mins covering the lid. Stir gently, when you are cooking meat balls as it could fall apart.

8. Now add potato cubes and cook it for 13-15 min covering with a lid, it will still need gently stirring every minute.

9. Now add some water as much as you want in gravy and cook another 10-15 mins until meatballs are cooked properly with the lid on and stirring every minute.

10. Finally turn the heat off, add garam masala and stir meatballs curry and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot this curried meat balls with Naan bread or chapatti or rice.
