Kachumber Salad is chopped raw vegetables salad with lemon juice, salt and sugar.

Preparation Time: Appr. 10 Minutes
Serves: 4 People

Kachumber Salad


1 cucumber
2 tomatoes
1 green pepper (capsicum) – Optional
1 red large onion
2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
½ teaspoon roasted cumin seeds powder
½ teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste

Kachumber Recipe

Preparation Method:

1. Wash the cucumber and cut both ends. Chop the cucumber in fine pieces.

2. Peel the onion and chop it.

3. Chop the tomatoes.

4. Remove the seeds from green pepper (capsicum) and chop it.

5. Take all chopped vegetables in a mixing bowl. Add roasted cumin seeds and mix well.

6. Add sugar, salt and lemon juice to kachumber salad. Toss them well.

Serve the kachumber salad with any main course (best with biryanis).

Variation Tips:

You can keep in refrigerator to serve kachumber salad chilled. This helps to blend all flavours together to the kachumber recipe.

You can add other vegetables to make kachumber salad like chopped celery, carrots, radish, etc…

You can sprinkle some chaat masala to kachumber recipe.
