Gujarati Kadhi Recipe is cooked on traditionally gujarati way. Kadhi is sweet and sour yogurt based curry which is normally eaten with rice or khichdi.

Gujarati Kadhi RecipeIngredients:

2 tablespoon besan (gram flour)
1 cup plain yogurt
½ teaspoon grated ginger
1 chopped garlic clove (optional)
5-6 curry leaves (kadi patta)
½ teaspoon cumin seeds
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
¼ teaspoon asafoetida (hing powder)
¼ teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi)
1 dried red chilli break in half
2 tablespoon Jaggery (or sugar)
2 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste

Cooking Method:

1. Beat the yogurt with two cups of water. Add the besan, salt, Jaggery (or sugar), grated ginger and beat well.

2. Boil the yogurt mixture on slow heat for 10 mins and keep stirring in between.

3. Heat the oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds (methi seeds) and asafoetida (hing powder). When seeds crackle, add dried red chilli, chopped garlic (optional) and curry leaves (kadi patta).

4. Pour this tadka on guajarati kadi pan and cook for 2 mins.

5. Finally turn off the heat and garnish gujarati kadhi with coriander leaves.

Serve gujrati kadhi recipe hot with khichdi or rice.
