Green Peas Cabbage Vada is deep fried shredded cabbage and peas fritter with spices, gram flour and rice flour.

Cooking Time: Appr. 3-4 Minutes Per Batch
Serves: 6 People

Green Peas Cabbage Vada

Ingredients:

½ cabbage
1 medium onion
1 cup green peas
½ gram flour
½ cup rice flour
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain/ajmo)
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
2-3 green chilli
1 inch ginger
2-3 tablespoon chopped coriander
2 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Green Peas Cabbage Vada

Cooking Method:

1. Chop the onion, chillies and cabbage finely.

2. Peel the ginger and grate it or chop (finely) it.

3. In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped onion, chopped chillies, chopped cabbage, chopped coriander leaves and grated or finely chopped ginger. Mix them well.

4. Add the fennel seeds, garam masala powder, carom seeds, lemon juice and salt and mix them well.

5. Add the rice flour and gram flour, mix well. Sprinkle some water and mix well to make roughly dough.

6. Heat the oil deep pan. When oil is heated take a small lemon size or small ball size shaped and keep and press gently by using your finger to spread it little bit. Now place the green peas cabbage vada gently in the hot oil and deep fry it till becomes golden brown on both the sides. Place some more green peas cabbage vada for deep frying depends on the pan size (probably 4-7 per batch). Finish frying all 4-7 green peas cabbage vada per batch.

7. Place the fried green peas cabbage vada on kitchen paper to absorb the access oil.

Serve green peas cabbage vada as a starter with dip or snack with cup of tea or coffee.
