Daal Saag Recipe is one of the healthiest curries, prepared with spinach, lentils and traditional spices. It is also called Saag Daal.

Cooking Time: Appr. 35 Minutes
Serves: 2-3 Persons

Daal SaagIngredients:

200 gram Lentil or gram dal (chana dal)
200 gram fresh spinach (or chopped frozen spinach)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 green chillies
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon chopped coriander for garnish
Salt to taste
Water as needed

How To Cook Daal Saag Recipe:

1. Wash the lentil or gram daal and soak in the water for 2 hours.

2. Boil the soaked lentil or gram daal until it is soft and cooked.

3. Chop the green chillies and spinach.

4. Heat the oil in the pan and add the cumin seeds. Wait until it crackles.

5. Now add the chopped green chillies and then after 1 minute add spinach. Cook it for 3-4 mins.

6. Then add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and cook it for 1 minute.

7. Now add the salt and lemon juice. Then add the boiled lentil or gram dal and add water if you want a bit thinner curry and cook it for cook it for 5 mins.

8. Finally turn the heat off and garnish saag daal with chopped coriander.

Serve hot daal saag recipe with naan bread, chapatti or rice.
