Caramelized Pineapple Recipe is basically pineapple cooked in sweet sauce and serves with sweet sauce.

Caramelized Pineapple Recipe

Ingredients:

1 pineapple
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup grated or mashed jaggery or brown sugar
¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder (Optional)

Caramelized Pineapple

Cooking Method:

1. Peel the pineapple and slice (1/2 inch thick) into the rings and/or cut each ring into 6 pieces. Extract core from each slice with a round cookie cutter or pointed knife.

2. Melt the butter in a large on medium heat.

3. Place the pineapple slices or pieces over the melted butter in the pan. Sprinkle with the grated or mashed jaggery or brown sugar.

4. Pour the butter/sugar (or butter/jaggery) juice with the help of spoon over the pineapple slices. Cook for about 3-4 mins per side.

5. Continue to drizzle every so often to combine the flavour of the butter and jaggery/brown sugar to the pineapple slices or pieces.

6. When the caramelized pineapple cooked, place pineapple slices or pieces on plates and drizzle some of the leftover butter and brown sugar/jaggery sauce over the top.

Serve caramelized pineapple recipe with vanilla ice cream to enhance the flavour of ice cream.
