Aloo Poha is a poha recipe (Rice Flakes recipe). Poha rice is normally cooked with onion, potato and other spices. Aloo Poha recipe is also called kanda poha recipe, bateta poha recipe and batata poha recipe.

Cooking Time: Appr. 25 Minutes
Serves: 2 People

Chicken Butter MasalaIngredients:

1 cup poha rice (rice flakes)
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
2 medium onions
1 medium potato
1 green chilli
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4-5 fresh curry leaves
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoon chopped coriander
2 tablespoon oil
10-15 peanuts
Salt to taste
Water as needed for poha rice

Cooking Method:

1. Take cold water in a bowl, add 1 teaspoon salt and mix until salt is dissolved.

2. Take poha rice in a bowl and wash it well using your fingers.

3. Add washed poha rice in salted water. Leave aside for 5 mins. Then use sieve to get rid of water from poha rice. Leave on sieve for draining.

4. Chop the onions, chilli and potato.

5. Heat the oil in the pan and add peanuts and fry it for 3-5 mins. Keep stirring. Now take all peanuts out.

6. Heat the oil in same pan again and add the mustard seeds. When it crackles, add the curry leaves.

7. Add chopped green chillies and fry for 30 secs.

8. Now add chopped onions and chopped potato. Cook and stir it for 10-15 mins until chopped potato is cooked.

9. Add turmeric powder and stir for a few seconds.

10. Add salt and lemon juice and stir it few secs.

11. Now add the drained poha rice and mix well until all poha rice change to yellow colour. Cook it for 2-3 mins.

12. Add sugar mix well. Cover the lid and slow the heat. This will help the flavours of the spices to absorb into the poha rice. Cook for another 3-5 mins and stir in between.

13. Turn the heat off and garnish aloo poha with chopped coriander leaves and fried peanuts. Give kanda poha a good stir. This is how to make poha recipe.
